Job Details
| The Roles:
Mechanical - To encompass all aspects of mechanical design, from concept
and design schemes; structural analysis and calculations; design in a
3D-modelling environment (Inventor Series) and production of
manufacturing drawings, sometimes with the assistance of draughtsmen,
but always as part of the team.
It doesnt end there; engineers work closely with subcontract
manufacturers to fabricate the equipment and are routinely involved in
the build process and factory testing, often with client participation.
The involvement will often continue with installation and commissioning.
The level at which the individuals role sits within this is flexible and
is determined by ability and rewarded by responsibility.
Electrical Systems - A hands-on role that similarly encompasses all
aspects of electrical system design for our offshore and subsea systems.
Starting from the tender stage with client liaison the role progresses
rapidly through electrical design and specification of LV and MV
equipment, circuit drawings and integrated build information, working
with control engineers as part of one or more teams in a challenging
dynamic environment.
The role flows on through procurement, supplier liaison to the build in
our workshop and factory testing. It often extends to include
installation and commissioning, all founded on top class documentation.
The role comes bundled with special responsibility for electrical build
standards and quality.
Team Leader - Control & Electrical Systems
A doing and leading role with the responsibility to develop all
aspects of EB electrical & control systems engineering. Its a team game
where the determination to be the best is key, from building
relationships with and presenting technology to clients, leading the
electrical engineers to deliver fully functional tested electrical and
control systems against tight deadlines to budget.
Doing will involve making a real contribution into the groups design
realisation efforts, ranging from software/controls activities,
technology development to trouble-shooting.
There is scope to grow the role by pro-actively supporting the sales
team in developing market opportunities and winning more work in a wider
field.
The candidates
You will be degree qualified and have a track record in the design of
complex engineering systems, be an intuitive problem solver and
excellent communicator. In our project team environment, you must be
confident enough to back your own ideas yet open minded enough to see
others points of view. We are interested in resilient and persistent
problem solvers with a can-do approach. Successfully delivering all or
parts of our projects against time and cost criteria will require you to
demonstrate innovation, commitment, energy, intelligence and above all
passion, whilst being commercially savvy. |
