Reporting to the Drawing Office / Workshop Manager, the aim of this role will be to provide a comprehensive Design Drawing Office service in light current engineering. The successful applicant will work as part of a small team in a multi disciplined office delivering the design aspects of large projects for High Voltage Substations, ensuring all drawings are produced within timescales and to relevant standards and assisting in the development of support staff. Applicants should ideally possess an HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with a minimum of five years experience of working in a Design Drawing Office producing light current design drawings. Excellent computer skills and a full working knowledge of computer design drawing packages including AutoCAD 2000 are essential. Ideally you will have a working knowledge of both Electricity Association and National Grid Technical Specifications applicable to substation control and protection systems and a familiarity with the application of modern protection relays. Experience of site installation and commissioning of light current equipment in HV Substations would be advantageous.
